VLOS 2.1
After three years and a half on hold but not dead VLOS project returns with new vision for the future, today they are pleased to introduce the first alpha version of what will be the stable version codenamed “CEMI” VLOS 2.0, they include a countless number of improvements which are described below:
Based on Gnome-2.28.1
Based on Kernel-2.6.31
Based on stages from Funtoo by Daniel Robbins
Based on new GCC 4.3.3 and Glibc 2.9
VLOS is now based on Sabayonlinux using Entropy package manager and Installer
VLOS is now livecd and can be used as a rescue disc
VLOS has moved from “hal” to “DeviceKit-power”, “DeviceKit-disks” and “udev”
VLOS now have wine by default and been able to run supported windows apps
VLOS now use Ext4 by default
Xorg server 1.7.2
Python 2.6
And many other packages that will be added during the beta period
