Goodgoat Linux is a CD, usb key bootable Linux that can be installed on the hard drive. Goodgoat uses the portage (gentoo) package manager.
The goal of goodgoat is to make an easy to use Linux that has few duplicated applications so that you don’t have to dig through the menus to find the program that you want. They have spent endless hours finding the best of programs to be included on this Linux distro.
Currently they have a desktop focused Linux that can be tested from a CD or usb key without having to install to the hard drive. They can work with a wide range of older to new hardware. They use Xfce4 as the desktop for speed and low memory requirements. Gnome and KDE applications are supported without the heavy overhead.
