Fuss 5.0 – Neon
The first criterion (key) used to make the distribution FUSS is to distribute only free software. It derives from a series of considerations of various kinds:
Consistency on the philosophical and political than the choice of using free software.
The possibility to install not only in schools but also distributed to all students and families the software that is part of the distribution FUSS, and do so legally.
The possibility to modify and adapt the software and installation procedures to the specific needs, which is possible only if they are freely licensed.
The second criterion is maintained. One of the great advantages of free software is that you can use what has already been created by the community. Therefore it was decided to rely on existing infrastructure and tested to guarantee reliability and maintainability over time.
The third criterion is that of modularity: the distribution FUSS must be assembled and broken down to accommodate different learning areas (eg primary, secondary and higher).
